Seafood marathon downunder....

I was planning to buy some prawns for the noche buena tonight but the queue was so horribly long.... So i've ended up making teriyaki chicken instead....

Shopping centres are in the middle of a marathon trading session, with stores staying open overnight and until 5.30pm today.

Shoppers at the fish markets will buy a staggering 83kg/min of prawns, 93kg/min of fish and almost 1000 oysters/min during today's traditional rush.

Ganyan po kasi ka-popular ang seafood dito sa Downunder specially during christmas season.... And as for my teriyaki chicken naman, it's absolutely delicious.... Better than any fish or prawns.... I think i've made the right decision going to the butcher rather than the seafood market today.... I'll just have that elusive prawns for the new year's eve.... Merry Christmas all....=D

Heto pa ulit from Bry....!

This one's from Bry naman....! Salamat dito Bry....! You know, it's a great thing na na-uso dito sa blogos tong mga tags, awards and other things kasi hindi naman sa lahat ng oras ay very fruitful and flowery tong utak ko para mag-isip ng topics for my updates.... Some might find them very annoying, but for me they create a kind of breathing points where at times na wala na akong maisulat and instead na iwanan panasamantala ang blogging at umupo sa tabi at magminimuni ay eto meron pala akong pwedeng ilagay just to keep the fire burning di ba....?

Ewan ko lang sa inyo kung agree rin kayo rito sa idea ko na to, basta yan ang views ko towards friend's tags, and awards here in the blogos.... Kita nyo naman, meron pa rin akong pang update ngayon at madami pang for the weekend ko naman ipu-post.... At the same time ay nabibigyan ko rin ng pang updates ang iba.... Kahit na medyo nangangapa pa tong utak ko ngayon ng topics para i-post dahil busy nga ako sa trabaho ko the whole week....

By the way, i've made two kids happy pala today, what happened was i had a whole boring day today kasi inaantok dahil sa kakapuyat ko dun sa movie na "Ong Bak" kagabi, thailand's finest yata yun about the culture and the thai-martial arts ang "Muay thai" at medyo naduling rin mga mata ko sa kababasa at kahahabol dun sa subtitles....! It was fantastic, actually i've seen that maybe around twenty times already he-he....! Kaya yun, hating gabi na natulog tapos maagang gumising para pumasok ulit resulta, zombie ako buong araw....!

Anyways, balik ako dun sa mga happy kids.... Bandang mga 5 pm kaninang hapon, kalalabas ko lang ng trabaho sabay perform na naman ng aking trademark na daily goodbye kaway sa mga nakatingin na mga unggoy sa'kin sa kanikanilang mga office windows at aktong magtatravel na akong pauwi ng mapansin ko ang isang puting ibon sa may damuhan.... Sabi ko, parang kamukha to ni Dexter a, my ex-pet cockatiel na isip tao at tamad lumipad at ang gusto ay maglakad lang ng maglakad.... Dexter - taken from the cartoon character, Dexter the scientist na may hair-do din na yellow he-he....! Nakakatakot lang kasi baka sa sobrang kalalakad ay biglang maapakan ko na lang sya minsan.... Malas lang kasi accidentally nakalabas sya sa bintana at naligaw ng landas at naging palaboy nang tuluyan mga two taon na ang nakakaraan at similar ang looks dyan sa inilagay kong pitsel este picture pala sa kaliwa mo.... San na kaya umabot ng kalalakad yun....?

Na-realised ko rin na born in captivity yun dahil sa bright colorations ng balahibo nya na present lang sa mga captive breed dahil sa color-mutations na siguro dala ng controlled diet nila.... Sinubukan ko syang lapitan ng talagang malapit na malapit pero ayaw pa ring lumipad, tapos ng hinawakan ko ay lumipad pero bumalik malapit sa akin at dumapo sa may sangga kaya hinawakan ko na, kinagat pa nga ako sa kamay, at judging dun sa kagat nya na hindi gaanong masakit ay male cockatiel sya.... Ang mga female birds kasi masakit mangagat na kagaya rin sa tao ha-ha....!

Hindi ko naman pwedeng iuwi kasi baka gutumin lang lalo sa apartment ko dahil walang mag-aasikaso sa buong araw na wala ako.... Madilim pa kasi ako umaalis tapos gabi na rin kung umuwi kaya sabi ko kawawa lang sya dito sigurado.... Good timing naman na may dumaan na dalawang batang babae kaya tinawag ko tapos sabi ko, sa inyo na lang to pakainin nyo ng kare-kare with matching bagoong, rice, and ice cream mamaya....! Joke lang yung last part, maintindihan naman kaya, australians kasi yung mga bata....! =D

Nanghinayang din ako dahil sana finders keepers yun dapat, pero parang tuwangtuwa naman yung mga bata at nagmamadali pa ngang umuwi dahil sa sakit ng mga tuka ng ibon sigurado....! At least, after school ay hindi na siguro sila maggagala ng tulad kanina dahil may ibon na silang aalagaan sa bahay di ba....? Sana dinala ko na lang pauwi, sayang tsk....! Anyways, i've made someone happy today at proud na rin ako dun.... Nakakapagpataba pa ng puso he-he....! =D

Ang pagbabalik ng astig....!

I'm back wooohooo....! Masakit pa rin ang balikat at leeg pero pwede nang mag-type ng pagong speed lang....! Baka akala nyo hindi ko alam na may mga comments and messages kayong lahat dito ha, i was just right in the background reading and laughing nakikiramdam sa mga kakalugan at kakulitan nyo all along....! =D


Last time i was really feeling so bad on my upper body at hindi talaga kayang mag-typing, naranasan nyo na bang magpapasta ng ipin, ganun ang feeling ko last time na parang may on going na road constructions sa loob ng shoulder ko....! Nature kasi ng work ko, naka-upo buong maghapon, nakasubsob ang mukha sa ginagawa at nakatunganga sa mga folders ng mga schematic diagrams, paperworks, electronic gadgets, electronic components at kung ano-ano pang connected sa electronics na pang mina ng coals sa ilalim ng lupa.... Kaya pala madami kaming stock ng pain-killer sa luchroom dahil dun, ngayon ko lang na-figure-out....! Pero mas okay na lang tong job kesa dun sa mga minero mismo, at least wala akong putik sa katawan, paupo-upo lang buong araw, naka-aircon pag-summer, naka-heater naman pag-winter, at nakakapag-blog pa on our office pc uha....! Yun nga lang ang down side nya, sakit sa ulo at batok but not always....! =D


How's everyone by the way....? Salamat sa lahat ng mga walang sawa at walang tulog na bumibisita dito naks ha-ha....! Oi, matulog naman kayo, wala na bang tulog-tulog dyan sa phils ngayon at kahit bandang 4 'o clock ng umaga ay may natatanggap pa akong mga messages....?! Bakit mo naman alam Peng, hindi ka rin siguro natutulog ano....? Dun sa mga nag-iwan ng mga messages nila at comments at sa mga bumibisita para magbasa, makiki-iyak at nakikitawa sa mga kadramahan at kalokohan sa blog na'to, thank you talaga sa lahat.... Alam ko yan kasi bumi-build up din ang visit records dun sa hit-counter ko araw-araw kahit na kalahati pala nun ay sa'kin....! Aba, big fan din yata ako ng blog ko, conceited....! =D


Palagay ko hindi ko na kailanggan pang i-mention ang mga pangalan nyo dito dahil baka lalong mas na sumikat pa kayo kesa sa akin nyan, kapal....! Hindi, alam ko naman at alam nyo na rin kung sino-sino kayong mga espesyal na mga nilalang sa balat ng lupa at palaging nagbibigay buhay sa munting mundo ko, wag nyong sabihing hindi nyo pa alam kung sino-sino kayo dyan dahil ibang kaso na yan....! I just wanted to tell you all that you'are the most important part of my blogs and i really do whole heartedly appreciates everyone's support.... (hikbi!) (singot!) (lulon!) (singot pa ulit!) Anyways, nandito na ulit ang astig at handa na ulit sumabak sa bakbakan, hindi bakabakan ng pandesal na may kuko to kundi bakbakan ng stick bread na may kuko lang....! Ano raw sabi, paki-ulit mo nga Peng....? Nalito yata ako dun a, paki ulit nga ng mga sandosenang beses pa plis....! Happy lang ako na sa wakas pwede na ulit akong mag-react sa mga iniiwan nyo mensahe, hirap nung hanggang basa lang ako talaga kasi parang tortured pala ang pakiramdam nun, sa'kin nga ang site pero ni kalabit man lang sa mga pyesa ng keyboad ay di ko kayang gawin....! Kamot nga ng ilong hindi ko kayang gawin, kalabit pa kaya sa keyboard....!


kinabahan pa nga ako kahapon dahil naalala ko na si David Bowie pala nun nung nagpa-opera sya dahil nangangalay daw balikat nya everytime na tumutugtog ng gitara, yun pala sobrang barado na ng cholesterol ang isang artery ng puso nya kaya medyo nag-worry din si Pepe dahil parang pareho yung case a at medyo napalakas din ang kain ko ng fried french ba yun nung happy new years day, sarap nun para syang strips ng pritong patatas na lasang chicken joy pagpumikit ka....! Ha, french fries ba tawag dun, kala ko kasi fried french ay baliktad....! Buti na lang hindi naman pala ganun kalala at talagang muscle pain lang sya'ng talaga....


At the moment ay medyo okay na ako pero may paminsanminsan pang pagsakit ng balikat at shoulder-blade kapagnapahataw ako ng forehands and backhands ko.... Napasobra kasi panunuod ko ng Australian Open Tennis Game lately kaya yun medyo naki-carried away minsan lang naman he-he....!


Anyways, i'm back and my first plan is to visit your blogs later on kasi madami na yata akong na miss sa mga tsismis ng mga buhay nyo....! Talaga yatang mapapasabak ako ng typing nitong araw na to....! Dapat kasing mag-comment din ako sa mga entries nyo mamaya na hindi ko pa alam kung ano ang mga topics.... Baka kasi sabihin nyo na loko naman tong si astig, binibisita ko blog nya nun at nag-iiwan pa ako ng greet and smiles tapos wala man lang nailagay sa blog ko kahit na dash and dots lang nung nagbalik, mabatokan nga kaya kita, etong dapat sa'yo um....! *toinks*....! My Bonsai tree....

Last time i've mentioned in my other posts that i'm a little short of money these few weeks.... Lately my pocket was slightly recovering from that a bit kaya medyo nakakahinga ako ng kunti ngayon.... Last thursday, a blessing from some unknown sources (alam nyo na kung saan) came to my aid and gave me a bit of hope and confident budgetwise.... You want to know what that one was....? Two years ago i went on holiday back to pinas and we ate at Chow King's several times....

One time, we bought some fortune cookies there, and we cracked them open and look what it says inside.... One was just a set of five numbers.... Itinago ko yun sa wallet ko tapos ay tinatayaan ko minsan sa lottery dito.... Last thursday, i've won $AUD 688.00 in crispy cash...! Astig....! Mas-excited pa yata yung shop keeper na australian born pinay yata yun kesa sa akin dahil medyo nanginginig pa mga kamay nya habang nagbibilang he-he....! Ang sabi pa nya, kung nakakuha lang daw sana ako ng isa pang tamang number ay malamang mga around $AUD 600,000 nang talaga raw ang napanalunan ko nun....! I will definitely go back to pinas and start something kung nangyari lang sana yun he-he....! I didn't went on a spending spree that day kasi nga kare-recover lang ng bulsa ko nun.... But i bought myself a pot of BONSAI FIG TREE na nakita ko sa isang flower-shop for 55.00 bucks only....! Have a look....! =D

I received an award from Mrs.T....! Wooohooo....! I would like to share this award to some of my other wonderful blog-friends ko doon later on na lang because i am currently dealing with my computer's problem at naduduling na tong mata ko sa kakatingin sa kanina pa pakislapkislap na monitor ko nakuw....!

Homemade Wine 101

My desperate attempt to make homemade bottles of wine....! It's curiosity driven, but a very exciting experience....! I know how to do it, that's why i want to share it with you....! HAWAYAAH....! Good weekend all....! Hindi naman siguro masyadong nainip ang lahat sa naudlot na entry na to he-he....! Masyado lang kasi akong kinapos sa oras nitong mga nakaraang mga araw bunga ng very bad and stormy condition dito sa sydney ngayon.... I will also post that topic on my next entry....

Yep, this entry is about wine making at home.... This is not one of those BOOTLEGGED adventures (piracy) na talagang kasuklam-suklam ha-ha....! This one is just a simple " try-to-prove-case " na napilitan lang akong gawin....

Meron lang kasing nag-challenge sa'kin na ka-workmate ko tungkol dito.... I was not really going to do it since i was also busy finishing another painting for ages now.... Anyways, out of curiosity siguro ay napilitan na ako, kaya eto pinagbuti na lang ang paggawa dun he-he....!

Sa pinas is a bit not so wise idea ito kasi wala naman tayong sapat na source ng grapes at talagang table varieties lang ang ini-import natin.... Another thing is the not so affordable na presyo, lalo na sa mga imported goods tulad lang ng mga fruits halimbawa....!

If only we have a suitable area to start a vineyard dyan, okay sana....! I wish someday i can go back home and be a fruit farmer, then i will try growing this vines ha-ha....! Nananaginip....!

Back to my topic proper, i bought about 6 kilograms of the black MUSCAT variety kasi ito raw ang traditional red wine variety na commonly used by most of the wineries.... Of course any varieties naman will do....!

No wonder red wines leave such hard to remove stains, this thing is a stain-machine so you must keep it away from your clothes at all time....! Anyways, on with our wine making.... Muscat is a very juicy variety, a kilogram can squeeze-out about half a liter of juice....

Here's how to make wine at home....

STEP 1: You'll be needing at least 3 kilos of grapes to make one standard long bottle.... Crush them with your hands in a big plastic bowl, Palanggana or even use a food processor or a blender but make sure not to mince it too much....

STEP 2: Once crushed or minced including pulps, stems, seeds, and all, pour them into a big plastic container or tupperware and cover for 2 day to soften a bit.... Fermentation process starts straight after the crushing.... Commercial wineries sometimes add bacterias to speed-up the fermentation process, but the Romans didn't do that with the grapes crushed using only their feet in the first place, so why should we bother....?! Perhaps there was enough bacterias from their feet already that's why their wines are fantastic ha-ha....! But just incase you want to try adding it, those bacterias are available in every bottles of commercial wines.... It's a form of yeast that breaks down the fruit into a good consistency....

STEP 3: In the third day, pour the mashed grapes and all in a piece of cloth to strain it and squeeze that as hard as you can into a big container again.... Better if you can really squeeze the pulps dry to get those extra juices inside the skin.... It also adds a bit of deeper color and flavor to your wine....

STEP 4: Next, pour the collected juices minus the pulps, stems and seeds back to the container and cover that for another 40 days.... It will still taste fruity after that, but already good for drinking.... You can then fill it into bottles, cover with corks and dip the the head in a melted wax to seal it more tighter.... It will be ready for drinking in 6-9 months or so....

Dont get me wrong, hindi ako lasenggo ha....? 2 bottles of beer lang ay solve na ako he-he....!

So there you go....! Very simple lang di ba, no rocket science needed at all and very straight forward ang procedures nya.... One day, i will be the first vine-grower ( keep on dreaming peng....! ) and wine maker sa pinas ha-ha....! The hardest part lang talaga is growing your own vines, everything else is so simple....

That's it....! Tulog na muna ako at mukhang nalasing ako dun sa wine making natin ha-ha....! I have a big container of wine fermenting in the cup board for 4 days now.... In 40 days, i will take then to work for the taste test ha-ha....! Sana pumasa....! Good weekend....! BBQ all....!

HELLOO EVERYONE....!!!! I'm back from hiding ha-ha....! Yesterday i was back on full-time again, actually it's still part-time 'coz i got a bucket-full of other priorities too....! Anyways, all day-long yesterday i was at the other page of mine preparing it for yous guys.... Finally i've opened it up last night, though some parts we're still not finalised but just a bit left lang naman....


I really appreciate everyones comments, thanks guys....! Here in australia kasi i was just storing them in my apartment, and no one did ever saw all those apart from some maybe one or two that i've taken to work and show them to my friends.... The rest, just catching the dust in the corner ha-ha....!


At the moment i'm trying to re-group myself and getting prepared for the next paintings.... My plummer had asked me two weeks ago to paint their family portrait and until now i haven't started doing it yet ha-ha....! Anyways, he knew naman na kailangan ko pa munang magkagana bago ko umpisahan, that's the secret of a good artwork kasi.... In order for me to paint well, i have to wait for that kind of drive in me....


Being an artist is not that easy kasi, most of us have a very fastidious attitude towards things....! I cannot just sit-down and start working straight away, i need to be really relaxed and comfortable first with the way i sit or which side of the chair my buttom is resting on or else i will be stressed-up more easily thinking about my buttom instead of my work and never last longer infront of the canvas at all ha-ha....!


When i'm working on an artwork, i also need to listen to strange music that you can compare to a tangling strings of yarn....! Or maybe some imotional type minus the vocalist like Yanni perhaps or classical like Andre Gagnon and Andre Rieu.... Something that can clug-up my other thoughts and make me focus only on what i am looking at will be the best one ha-ha....!


I started out of nowhere, if you can drop by at my art page again try to look for the vegetable basket and you'll know how i did all this he-he....! It's a gift from up above.... Who knows what's going on between my eyes, hands, and mind during those moments.... The coordination is just perfect....! I can start drawing a figure symmetrically from the tip of his finger up to the rest of the body or from the tip of the toe up to the tip of the hair on the head without a problem....


I admire Leonardo da Vinci and his work, i wish that one day i can be as good as he is.... I mean, he was....! ha-ha....! Probably if i apply more patience in things i can be as good as him.... There are times kasi that i rush things up, my strokes are speedy and rough at times.... To each his own approach naman di ba....? But who know one day i could be as great as him ha-ha....! Maybe he-he....!


Anyways, i can last very long here typing about art and artworks but i dont know about yous ha-ha....! So i will just let yous have your breakfast for a while and touch this topic again some other time, it depends on who will trigger me first to start this topic again ha-ha....! P.S. By the way, the inset painting is exactly similar to my very first art contest buster when i was 10 years old....! That composition is very special to me 'coz it started the whole thingy.... I'm planning to frame that and give it to my father the next time i go home.... The original composition was drawn by myself years and years ago using a box of crayons and i believe that it's still there hiding somewhere in the art room in that same school where i've graduated my elementary years.... I'll look for that one day.... Okay see yous again guys....!

Super busy pa si ako....!

Goodday all....! How'd yous like my new experimental header ha-ha....! I've spent a smashing 5 hours doing that you know....! Telebabad also included ha-ha....! Would you believe na paint software lang ng window ang ginamit ko dyan....! Anyways, for the time being i am just a humble visitor of my own blog 'coz i'm still busy at the moment....

Hey by the way, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the moms out there....! I've decided to close the poll, maybe we'll do it some other time na lang.... Back on air na naman po ako.... Parang radyo a....! Matagaltagal din akong nawala, mga 2 weeks he-he.... Matagal na ba yun....? Masyado lang naging busy ang 2007 ko at hindi ko pa mahanaphanap ang mga nawawalang bahagi ng katawan ko at nagkapirapiraso na yata ako sa sobrang confusion ngayong 2007....

Naging medyo mabagal rin itong pc ko nitong mga nakaraang araw at kagagaling lang sa pagka-crash ito buti na lang at naagapan ko kaagad at nai-reformat nang muli pero medyo may nakalimutan yata akong i-install at parang nahihirapan syang basahin ang ilang formats at mga iscript-iscript na yan dito sa www.

O baka naman naghihintay lang ng faster broadband connection kaya in a slowly crumbling mode na sya.... Anyway, a faster broadband connection is not that expensive anymore now a days unlike before na ginto ang presyo nito, but still considered unwise pa rin kung blogging lang naman ang main purpose at wala ka naman palagi sa bahay para ma-fully avail ang mga advantages nito....

But who knows i might make-up my mind one day.... Matagal kasi akong mag-decide.... Yun tipo bang pumutok na ang baril pero nag-iisip pa rin kung saan iilag, sa kanan kaya o sa kaliwa....

But i was trying my best and still keeping in touch with everyone naman all these absent days through my funny cartoon page na masmadaling i-update kasi pwede ko syang i-sketch lang muna at i-save sa drawing tablet ko and takes only about 30 mins/day to make 2-3 post daily as long as i have some spare time....

Kumusta naman ika nyo ang downunder....? Eto mainit pa rin pero patapos na ang summer and coming up is the autumn na palagay ko ay hindi rin masyadong malamig ngayon kasi nag-lapse din ang winter at spring noon sa intended normal average transition periods nila.... Very foggy din sa umaga, about 15-20 meters visibility.... Alam nyo ba na ang fog sa umaga ay indication ng isang mainit na araw depende sa intensity o kapal nito sa madaling araw.... Overall, everything is under control pati na ang kasalukuyang bagyo odette nila sa may goldcoast na hindi tumitinag sa kinatatayuang gitna ng dagat hanggang sa ngayon....

Anyways, pagdating ng winter season ay magmimistulang ghost town na naman ang downunder at masisitaguan na naman ang mga head turners ng kalye (mga chicks na very showy) sa mga suman wrappers nila.... And next summer ay nandyan na naman ako sa pinas....! Woohoo....! Saan kaya magandang mamasyal dyan....?

Sana pag-uwi ko ay sunduin ako ng mga astig, hindi astig, naintriga at kahit na yung mga nainis at nainsulto na mga nagbabasa sa blog ko na to.... Pero bad luck kasi no clues kayo kung sino si pepe unless na your a memeber of my ever loving family kasi i just happen to look like everyone else....! Black hair, black eyes, brown complexion and speaking pinoy just like you are, just like everyone else ha-ha....!

Parang horror movie ang dating nun peng a....! Astig kasi tayo.... Baka kasi bigla nyong tawagin ring pepe ang ale na moving slowly rin and not afraid of strangers din na kagaya ko, biglang mahampas pa kayo ng bakya, baston, plastic bag, bayong, payong, etc.... Wawa naman si kayo.... Whaaaa!

Bilis ng panahon ano....? Parang kelan lang yung last holiday ko mga 10 months ago, ngayon pabalik na naman ako....! Cant hardly wait for the moment mode na ulit si pepe.... Bad side effect lang ng mode na to ay napapadalas rin ang bisita ko sa filipino shops he-he....

Hay salamat at natapos ko rin ang ads ko sa inglis na yun....! Galing ko ano....? Kasi na-discover ko lang to kanina ng mag-login ako sa affiliation site ko sa cafepress.... Kasi nakalagay nga ang banners nila dito at sa ibang blog ko pero wala akong pakialam kung ano man ang mga inu-offer nila kaya kanina ko lang talaga nalaman ang lahat ng pakislapkislap nila dyan sa banners nila....!
